2021 Honda HR-V

There's a 2021 HR-V for every style and taste, with four available trims. The LX is the base trim and comes standard with 17-inch silver-painted alloy wheels, body-colored rear roofline spoiler and power side mirrors, and auto-off projector-beam halogen headlights. The EX features all these plus roof rails, a power moonroof, rear privacy glass, and heated power side mirrors with integrated turn signals.

For a sporty design, go for the Sport trim, which comes with 18-inch machined alloy wheels and gloss black spoiler and side mirrors. The EX-L tops the lineup. It's bigger and heavier than the EX but has the same exterior features.

All four trims of the 2021 Honda HR-V are powered by a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine with multipoint fuel injection technology and a direct injection system. This engine produces 141 horsepower and 127 pound-feet of torque. It is paired with a continuously variable transmission.

Front-wheel drive is standard on the HR-V, with the option of a Real Time AWD with Intelligent Control System on all trims. The HR-V can go from zero to 60 miles per hour in 8.6 seconds with the four-wheel-drive system and in 9.5 seconds with AWD. Other performance features include hill start assist, a Macpherson strut front suspension, an electronic power-assisted rack and pinion steering, and a front stabilizer bar for easier handling around tight corners.

The 2021 HR-V seats five in up to 100.1 cubic feet of interior space. Passengers will be comfortable, thanks to 41.2 inches of legroom in the front and 39.3 inches in the rear. There's also enough room for cargo, up to 58.8 cubic feet in front-wheel-drive trims. Heated front seats come in the EX and EX-L, with leather-trimming standard in the latter. The second row features 60/40 Magic Seats in all trims.

Honda has also outfitted the HR-V with the latest infotainment features on the market. You will enjoy standard Bluetooth connectivity and a four-speaker or six-speaker audio system, depending on the trim. On the Sport, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto become available, along with a 7-inch touch-screen display, HondaLink connectivity so you can access your smartphone's features and Pandora compatibility.

Every 2021 Honda HR-V comes with active safety features, including a tire pressure monitoring system, LED daytime running lights, vehicle stability assist, and an anti-lock braking system. Each vehicle is also equipped with advanced front airbags, front side airbags, and side curtain airbags with a rollover sensor. The HR-V is also safe for children, thanks to the LATCH system and child-proof door locks in the rear.

The EX and EX-L are equipped with the Honda Sensing suite of driver-assistance technologies, which include a road departure mitigation system, lane-departure warning, Honda LaneWatch, and forward-collision warning.
